I just finished reading a WSJ feature about the effects of the tsunami tragedy on different religions, as those who perished came from diverse religious backgrounds.

People are asking why God would allow this, whether God is loving or just. Others stopped believing in God, those who lost loved ones, for example. Others say that the love from God comes from the acts of those who are giving. Others still say God has nothing to do with it.

This is the freak of human nature. We just have to make sense of something, when sometimes it makes no sense and may not even need to make any sense. We need an explanation, an answer to why, even if the answer is “there is no answer”.
